week forty one

I said I’m scared of my first day at school
and suddenly I was in 2nd grade and I had friends.
I said I’m scared of moving and going to another school
but that school year passed, too.
I said I’m scared of going to high school
and suddenly I’ve been going there for years and I had friends.
I said I’m scared of having no friends in that class
but that school year passed, too.
I said I’m scared of changing schools and knowing nobody
and suddenly it was march and I had found a new friend.
I said I’m scared of her moving away and having to start all over
and suddenly she was gone and I had made other friends.
I said I’m scared of having classes with people I don’t know
and suddenly I realized it’s good to know those people, too.
I said I’m scared of my a-levels and all the studying
and suddenly they were over and I had made it.
I said I’m scared of everything passing too fast
and suddenly school was over.
and suddenly... here I am.

I had my very last exam on monday, june 21, an amazing day with my grade on wednesday, received my certification on thursday and prom was on saturday (for all of you who wanted to see my dress: this is it).
I had feared this past year for many many years and I only recently realized that it came so fast and is over now. I did it.
I am done with school.
